Raised in the farming country of Northern Alberta, she grew up immersed in wide skies and quiet fields. That deep connection followed her across Alberta and Saskatchewan, through many mediums, and finally into oils. She works in a solvent-free technique drawn from the old masters; slow, considered, and built for permanence. Kendel’s creative process involves chasing the light until what's on the canvas feels less like a landscape and more like a place you've already been.

Her work is held in private collections across Canada and the United States. For five consecutive years she has been selected for the Pure West Art Auction, finishing in the top ten selling paintings four out of five years. Her artwork has also appeared in Rolling Stone Country(Corb Lund & Hayes Carll, Del Barber) and on the cover of Cowboy Coffee Magazine.

She paints for the people who have stood in the open prairie wind and felt, without question, that they’re exactly where they’re meant to be.
